Jollibee, our country's #1 fast food chain, has been very vocal in supporting the upcoming 118th Independence Day celebration and just last May 31, 2016, I was very happy to be invited to an intimate press event as they introduce their newest #PinoyandProud: Ang Sarap, Ang Saya Maging Pilipino Campaign held at Jollibee E.Rodriguez branch. Thank you very much to Ms. Millet, Ms. Annalyn and Ms. Chen of DDB Group Philippines and Ripple 8 for the opportunity.

This is third time that Jollibee had a Pinoy Pride Campaign: first was last 2014 with "Foreignoy" that was all about foreigners who considers themselves as Pinoy at Heart and second was last year with entitled: Happy Birthday Pilipinas where Jollibee compiled wishes, hopes and promises of Filipino citizens.

“Being a homegrown Pinoy brand is always a source of immense pride for Jollibee,” said Francis E. Flores, Jollibee Global Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Marketing. “This year, we are celebrating the amazing Filipino spirit and our unique traits that put the sarap and saya to being Pinoy.”

During the press event, Jollibee introduced what the 2016 #PinoyandProud campaign has in store for everyone. It started off with the newest Sarap at Saya anthem written by hitmaker Thyro and performed live with Yumi:

”The song captures the essence of the resilient, compassionate, and joy-filled Filipino spirit.“Today, there are so many reasons to celebrate being Pinoy,” shares Flores. “Filipinos have proven that they are capable of being truly world class in everything they do.”

Next, they gave a sneak peak of Jollibee and Friends' newest attires for Independence Day, the traditional Filipiniana costumes, as Jollibee wowed all the attendees of the press event with his Barong Tagalog.

Truly, Jollibee's gestures such as the Pinoy Pride campaign can really make every Filipino realize how fun and exciting it is to be one. Let it be a reminder that being a Filipino is something to be proud of.
