If you are near or in Banawe area and you are craving for delicious and affordable dishes infused with Taiwanese flavor, you might want to drop by at Hungry Sumo. It is located at 592-A NS Amoranto cor. Banawe St. Quezon City just across Tasty Dumplings and beside Pancit Malabon. 


Upon entering the restaurant, you would notice that the space can only accommodate up to 20 comfortably seated customers. I love the colors of the interior as it can be very inviting to diners especially the menu displays hanging on the walls.

I was very lucky to be invited by the owner, Ms. Ame, to taste their best sellers and to know what Hungry Sumo has in store for all its customers. Now on to the main event, the food tasting! They served the Iced Coolers first which definitely refreshed us from a very tiring travel from work. 

Taro, Iced Mocha and Dark Chocolate w/ Rock Salt - P90.00/each

I chose the Dark Chocolate cooler with Rock Salt which has the a balanced sweetness and bitterness that I really enjoyed. There was a generous amount of Rock Salt on top and I'm really happy that it didn't overpower the taste of the chocolate. Will definitely try the Iced Mocha the next time I visit Hungry Sumo with hubby.

Then the Fish Poppers were served:

Fish Poppers - P70.00

Warning: This snack/side order is very addicting. Love how crisp it is on the outside but the fish inside is perfectly cooked. Some pieces can be a bit salty but with the sweet ketchup as the dip, it lessens the saltiness. What's great about this is that it stayed crisp throughout our stay unlike others that sag hours after it was served. This is really a must try dish that you will surely love!

The next dish that was served to us is considered as Hungry Sumo's best seller, the Hungry Curry Chicken Steak.

Hungry Curry Chicken Steak Meal - P95.00

First spoonful of this dish made me fell in love with everything I've tasted. The meat was very tender and flavorful and the crisp thin breading had the right texture and saltiness to it. If you're a bit health conscious and you want to remove the breading, the meat inside will still be very delicious as it marinated overnight. The curry sauce was perfectly curated by the owner and it really complimented the taste of the chicken steak that made me want to have more rice. It wasn't spicy unlike other curries that I've tried before but you may request that they make your curry sauce a bit spicy if that's what you prefer.

You can actually customize your Steak Meal. You can choose from Hungry (rice and 1 piece steak) or Sumo (rice, 2 pieces of steak and a side dish). Serving size of meat was just right for me but if 1 piece is not enough, you can order the Sumo meal both at very affordable prizes. They also have different flavors of sauces for the meat. You can choose from the Original, Spicy, Cheesy, Barbeque and the best seller, Curry. Prizes vary depending on the flavor you choose. I would love to try the Cheesy Flavor next time.

Served next was the Pork Noodle Soup with wanton. 

Pork Noodle Soup with Wanton - P135.00

If you order this and you loved it, you'll definitely come back for more at Hungry Sumo because this is the only restaurant where you'll find this soup as they actually make their own broth. To be honest, I don't like noodle soups that are a bit sweet because I prefer my soup to be salty. But I still enjoyed this bowl especially the pork and the noodle. The pork was very tender and flavorful and the noodle had the right thickness and is cooked just right. Perfect order especially during the cold weather. Nothing special with the wanton. I really hope they change it to Sharksfin soon.

Then this was placed on our table:

Crispy Chicken Steak Sandwich with Fries and Dip - P130.00

First bite on this sandwich and I already know that my hubby would surely love this spicy sandwich. The chicken steak was crispy on the outside while the chicken inside was very tender and juicy. The sauce was also personally crafted by the owner and I'm not sure though if it's what made the sandwich spicy. 



I do hope that they add other veggies on it like lettuce, etc to make it a bit healthier and colorful. I was just a bit disappointed with the fries because it wasn't too crisp. Some were already saggy when served. I hope they can do something about it. But the sandwich is superb! You should try it out as well with a crispy pork chop, chicken or a fish fillet as the patty. 

I was very satisfied with all the dishes served that night especially the Fish Poppers and the Hungry Curry Chicken Steak Meal. Hungry Sumo Restaurant surely is a must try restaurant in Banawe that offers very delicious dishes that are very affordable. They even have a group meal that are budget friendly and is complete with Rice Meals, Pasta, Side dishes, Ice Coolers and Dessert. I wasn't able to try their Carbonara, which was also one of their best sellers and also a very own recipe of the owner, but will definitely give this a try on my next visit at Hungry Sumo.

They also deliver for free if within the area and in other areas as well but with a minimum order requirement. Every family's favorite show during the Christmas Season is back to give audiences a peak of the enchanted world of Disney Princesses, other Disney Characters and of course, Mickey Mouse and friends.



Starting on Christmas Day till January 3, 2016, everyone is invited to witness the Disney on Ice: Magical Ice Festival at the Araneta Coliseum. It will feature the current highest grossing animated film and Academy Award winning film, Frozen, starring Queen Elsa and Princess Anna and our all time favorite Disney characters from The Little Mermaid, Tangled and Beauty and the Beast.



“This year’s Disney On Ice is truly magical with Disney properties that are packed with heart and personality. We have princesses that are exuberant and strong-willed, but we’ve also expanded the roles of spirited supporting characters, so that they’re more prominent in the show,” says Producer Nicole Feld.

Get ready for a fun filled and magical experience at the Big Dome as you witness your favorite Disney Princesses in real life such as Ariel, Rapunzel, Belle and Frozen's Anna and Elsa.



“We are taking a fresh new spin on how we’re presenting the Disney stories. We are weaving together the four worlds of royal sisters Anna and Elsa, Ariel, Belle and Rapunzel as they each embark on their own epic journey,” says Producer Juliette Feld.


What made the show more exciting is that kids can sing and dance with Mickey Mouse and friends during the interactive and playful segments of the show. 

Another part of the show that everyone surely is excited about is the first ever appearance of the Frozen characters, Princess Anna, Kristoff and Sven, as they go on an epic journey to find Queen Elsa and ask for her help to save the Kingdom of Arendelle from the chilly winter she started.  



Audiences will surely be in awe as they witness Disney Characters wearing colorful and amazingly made costumes, beautifully created backgrounds and set designs and jaw dropping stunts from the very talented casts. 



Costumes will be more appreciated in the Beauty and the Beast’s “Be Our Guest,” wherein those glitzy napkins and silverware will entertain the crowd. “The costumes are designed to emphasize the overwhelming amount of table décor that appears in the movie. The napkins unfold to increase their size and the forks tower over the heads of the performers. This is a big moment for Belle; the costumes need to reflect that,” says Costume Designer Cynthia Nordstrom.

All plays and shows wouldn't be complete without a highly skilled lighting director as the lights impart the emotions felt in every scene making the whole experience more magical. “The colors really pull you into the different worlds of the princesses, but it’s how the lights are arranged that command your attention when the characters are performing their acts. For example, when the Daughters of Triton are introduced, the lighting individually highlights each of them. Your eyes follow the spotlights,” says Lighting Designer Sam Doty.

While we love ice festivals, we need something to do in the summer that's why we checked out Skates HQ to see all the awesome Kids Gear!

As a child, I wasn't able to experience kiddie parties because my parents were too busy with our family business (garments). I envy other kids that were able to attend trick or treats where they get tons of candies and chocolates. So now that I am a mom, I make sure to have time to bond with the kids when there are events and parties where I can bring them to.

When Mommy Bloggers Philippines posted an invitation to a Halloween Party at Sky Ranch Tagaytay, I was ecstatic to be part of it. I want my children to have the chance to enjoy parties that I wasn't able to try back then. So I grabbed the opportunity to bond with my kids and with other Mommy Bloggers as well. :) It was scheduled on a weekend but hubby wouldn't be able to come with us because of work so we decided to sign up for the shuttle going to Sky Ranch. It would be hard for me to bring two kids with me so I had to leave the little one at home. It was just me and my daughter, but no worries, I'm sure we'll have loads of fun at the event. We bought a witch costume, made a broomstick and packed candies for the other kids and were good to go.

Saturday came and we were very early at Mcdonald's Trinoma (Shuttle's pickup point) so we decided to grab some food first. There were only a few families who joined the shuttle, so when we were completed, we headed straight to Tagaytay. It was a rainy morning but traffic was not heavy so travel went smoothly. We reached The Venue at exactly 9am and waited for other mommies to arrive. (Thank you very much to Sky Ranch for generously providing us The Venue for our Halloween Party and of course, for the Ride All You can pass for me and my kid ^^)


After Registration, we were given our pass that worked as a food, loot bag and raffle stub. A part of it was also used as a voting stub where we can write our top three picks for best Halloween costume. (Unfortunately, I was only able to take a photo of it after removing the voting stub)


Food was served to us while waiting for the program to start. Thanks to Sky Ranch and Kenny Rogers for a delicious meal that me and my daughter enjoyed :)

After eating, we headed to the comfort room to put on my daughter's Halloween costume.

Finally, the program started with greetings from our host, the Magic Meister, Mr. Pocholo Albiso.



Then, Mr. Poch asked all participants of the Halloween Costume Contest to get up on stage so that all the mommies can see and judge who has the best costume among the 21 kids. 




Mommies were asked to cast their votes using a part of the stub. While tabulating the scores, Mr. Pocholo invited the kids and the parents to play some games:



Mr. Pocholo then put a smile on everyone's faces when he performed with his friend Piolo.



He also entertained us with a Magic Show and a very energetic Balloon Twisting Act. He Is a great ventriloquist/magician/balloon twister with a sense of humor that everyone loved. I kept on laughing when he throws a joke because it was really hilarious. I definitely recommend him on special occasions and kiddie parties because he is very talented. After all his performances, it was time to announce the winners of the costume contest. Unfortunately my baby girl wasn't chosen as one of the winners but I'm glad she enjoyed the experience. To end the program, the kids lined up to get candies and chocolates from the other mommies. :)

She wanted to try the Horse Back Riding but the rain worsened and we had no choice but to return to the shuttle and bid Sky Ranch goodbye. We'll definitely go back soon together with hubby and my little boy. Hopefully weather is great and all other rides are open once we visit the park then.
