It has been Jollibee's tradition to honor Filipino families that have shown dedication and passion in their advocacies to extend a helping hand to fellow kababayans. Our country's #1 fast food brand, Jollibee, shows their appreciation and gratitude to these outstanding families through their annual Family Values Awards which is now on its 6th year. Last October 7, 2016, I was able to attend the awards night held at the Makati Shangri-La with the theme: "Gabi ng Parangal para sa Pamilyang Pilipino", thanks to sir John Paulo of Stratworks for the invitation. The 6th JFVA is an event supported by Coca-cola Philippines, Crowne Plaza Hotel Manila Galleria, Holiday Inn Manila Galleria and Rainforest Adventure (RAVE) with official media partners CNN Philippines and Philippine Star.

As we wait for the program to start, we were entertained by different groups of artists that serenaded us with traditional folk songs and performed folk dances.

"2016 marks the 6th year of our Jollibee Family Values Awards, Jollibee's annual advocacy program that aims to promote timeless Filipino family values. With the Filipino family at the core of Jollibee's brand, the JFVA is committed to reinforcing timeless and cherished values," said Jollibee Philippines President JJ Alano. "We are proud to recognize families ho can be considered as everyday heroes, families who truly exemplify how the power of Filipino family values can nurture and continue building a nation that can sail through the various challenges, calamities and adversities."

It was really a great way to honor Filipino families that are considered as "modern-day heroes" in their own little way. Setting aside their normal and simple lives just to help the less fortunate Filipinos is such an amazing thing to do and that being said, these awardees are someone we should definitely be proud of. Kudos to Jollibee for a successful event and for recognizing these passionate and hardworking people. Can't wait for next year's JFVA!
