Finally, the long wait is over for all Pokemon fanatics as Pokemon Go was officially released in the Philippines last August 6, 2016. Both IOS and Android devices were now able to download the application and start their journey as Pokemon Masters. I grew up watching the series, collecting Pokemon Cards and playing the game in an emulator so I was super excited when it was released.

It can be quite challenging to play though because it requires you to move around and walk to different places to catch pokemons, visit Pokestops where you get pokeballs, eggs, potions, lures, etc and battle at gyms. The usual places where these are located are at churches, MRT Stations, landmarks, murals/art displays and malls, that's why the latter has grabbed this opportunity as SM Malls have launched a nationwide Pokemon Go Lure Party wherein all the Pokestops located in their vicinity will have a lure activated which means, high chances of attracting and catching pokemons.

Last Friday, I joined all the other Pokemon Masters at SM North EDSA since it's near my office and that's where I normally ride an FX going home. 


It was the first day of their 3day Pokemon Go Lure Party where all 18 Pokestops located all over the mall will have a Lure activated from 5pm to 9pm. 


During the event, a contest was ongoing where the host would randomly ask for screenshots of Pokemons caught during the event with prizes such as Shakeys Cards and GCs. Here's a video of what happened during the first day of this 3 day SM event:


Cosplayers also graced the event and a display of Pokemon merchandises can be purchased at the event area:
