Taste Stoop's Umaapaw sa Sarap na Bagnet from Ilocos

Craving for those crunchy pork skin with uber juicy and tender meat served with your favorite healthy side dishes? Then Stoop's Bagnet Ilocos is the perfect food destination for you. With its 5 month old branch at 53-1A Visayas Ave. Brgy. Vasra, Quezon City and 5 other branches across the metro, you get to taste delicious authentic Ilocano cuisine at very affordable prices.

To give you a background on how Stoop's Bagnet Ilocos was created, let me start with the people behind this budding restaurant/franchise brand. Jay Seneres and Galen Cid, who worked at an airline company, would usually spend their vacations at Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, the latter's hometown. Both exposed to awesome Ilocano foods like empanada, bagoong with talbos ng kamote, kamatis and lasuna (native onions) and meals cooked personally by Galen's mom such as adobo ilokano, igado, dinengdeng, pinakbet and of course, the unforgettable Bagnet, they got hooked and wanted to search for a restaurant in Manila serving their favorites.

Unable to find a restaurant with authentic Ilocano food, they decided to open up their own. Using a funny moniker they call each other that actually means buddy, Stoop's Bagnet Ilocos was born. As branches started to increase in number, they decided to handle franchise restaurants under their new company, SBI Franchise Systems Inc, and currently they have 6 branches.

Their Visayas Ave. Branch is a bit small with more or less 25 pax seating capacity but still well ventilated and lighted with a homey vibe. Their best sellers are displayed all over the store:

I tried their Bagnet Meal with the KBL (Kamatis, Bagoong, Lasuna) side dish:

Bagnet Meal Regular with Garlic Rice and KBL side dish - P105.00

I can honestly say that this is one of the best tasting Bagnet I've tried here in Manila. The pork skin is truly crisp while maintaining the meat's juiciness. Not too oily nor too salty and tastes better when dipped in either Bagoong or Sukang Ilocos. Although the serving of the garlic rice is not enough for those big Bagnet pieces. Not a fan of veggies so I am unable to comment on their side dish.

For dessert, I was able to try their Dan Eric's Grand Ice Cream with Fruit Salad that I surprisingly enjoyed even though I'm not into fruit salads.

They also launched new dishes and desserts that customers will definitely enjoy:

Will definitely return at Stoop's Bagnet Ilocos to try other best sellers such as the Ilocos Longganiza and the Chicken Bagnet Meal. Will probably bring my office mates with me soon since it's just a jeepney ride away from our office. I may also opt to avail their delivery service (P30.00) with a minimum order of P300.00. They also have a promo of a +1 in every 10 orders availed.
