Wild West Roadhouse Grill (formerly Texas Roadhouse Grill)

10:57:00 PM

It was already 6:30pm when my hubby arrived at my workplace and we were both super hungry. I insisted that we go to EDSA Shangri-La Mall so that I can pay for my cellphone bill then we headed to the new East Wing to check out what's new. There were only a few stalls open at that time which made it even harder for us to pick the restaurant where we'll have dinner because either they are too pricey or we are not familiar with the food they serve.

While at the 6th level, we noticed people crowding at the Wild West Roadhouse Grill. A lot of people were still on waiting list so we opted not to dine there because we're already very hungry. Then a server handed us a P1.00 appetizer coupon (minimum purchase of P750.00) which made me ask the server to write our name on the waiting list. Good thing was they offered the tables outside which we gladly accepted so we won't need to wait in line anymore.

Once seated, we checked their menu for the appetizer that we'd love to try:

We chose the Jesse James Sampler which was one of the best sellers and most expensive appetizer on their menu. :) It is composed of Wild Cheese Fritters, Crispy Chicken Tenders, Buffalo Wings, Zucchini Strips and 3 types of dips (Sour Cream, Honey Mustard and Marinara Sauce).

Jesse James Sampler - P470.00
I really love the cheese fritters, which is a bit crunchy on the outside with the cheese still very soft and chewy inside. Try dipping it in the marinara sauce and it would taste even better. The chicken tender lacks flavor so I suggest that you dip it in the honey mustard sauce. The buffalo wings (mild spicy) tastes good but some piece were tough to chew. Our sampler's dish was almost empty but our order was not yet served.

Finally, our orders arrived after waiting for almost an hour. I chose the Pan Grilled Cajun Fish Fillet while hubby tried their Grilled Pork Belly. Both dishes came with a Wild West Rice and a side.

Here are the choices for the side:

I had mashed potato while hubby had his fresh veggies:

Pan Grilled Cajun Fish Fillet - P380.00
I love how the creamy Alfredo Sauce and the tangy "Pico de Gallo" Salsa complimented with the flavor of the fish fillet. The mashed potato lacked flavor, while the rice was gone in an instant! I hope they add more rice on their servings.

Grilled Pork Belly - P400.00
I also tried my hubby's grilled pork belly and they were really good! It also comes with a vinegar if you want to add a bit of sourness on your pork.

To sum it all up, the waiting time for our orders was longer than the actual eating time. But minus the issue in the serving time, everything went well with our dinner at Wild West Roadhouse Grill especially with the P1.00 appetizer promo where we saved P400.00+. We'll definitely come back and try more of their grilled dishes soon. They also have desserts like the Mighty Oreo Mud Pie and the Mocha Almond Sansrival which sound really good. ^^
